We are manufacturing a device that utilizes an Ytterbium component and we need a continuing source of high quality Ytterbium metal. We have been purchasing Yb from another supplier. The Yb from this supplier often has many internal inclusions and defects. When the Yb is rolled into sheets, it cracks and blisters around these inclusions. Some portions of the ingot are relatively free of defects and the metal can be used as intended. Other portions of the same ingot are so poor the metal cannot be used.
We tested your latest Yb ingot, Lot Number 454-181217, shipped 17 December 2018. The quality of this ingot is excellent. We are able to roll this Ytterbium to 0.0014" thick foil without any issues or problems. Bright and shiny, it looks virtually identical to silver foil, so we are very pleased. Our thanks to your people for an excellent job in correcting the problem we experienced earlier.
